ALS is open to men and women with the desire to receive instruction that is rooted in the Hebrew and Greek scriptures of the Bible and that is given by professors who belong to one of the churches of the worldwide Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Conference. All students must have the ability and disposition to do post-secondary level study. Non-diploma study – Individual Christians my arrange with ALS to take individual courses that are not part of any program, nor lead to a degree. If taken for credit, ALS will issue a certificate of credit. Such certificates may be considered toward a program if the student elects to enter a program at a later date. Part-time study – ALS offers courses in the morning, afternoon and evening. Some students are part-time because of family or employment. A student can be in a diploma program part-time. Full-time study - Students have full-time status when they take ten or more credits at a time. A student taking eleven or more credits may be full-time, but may not be a diploma program student. Diploma study – Students become candidates for a diploma when they are accepted by the president. Whenever ALS accepts a candidate, there must be an expectation that the diploma program can be completed satisfactorily within a reasonable amount of time. ALS may terminate a diploma program for good and sufficient reasons. Candidates will be advised regularly regarding their program. |
