The continuing purpose of the Translation Working Group (TWG), Hong Kong
The Translation Working Group promotes written and other media in the Chinese language for the sharing of the historic Christian faith as it is publicly confessed by the worldwide fellowship of the WELS.
Our objectives:
1. To gather, organize, and evaluate Chinese published material that is faithful to Jesus Christ and his Word.
2. To gather human and financial resources to facilitate the distribution of such published material.
3. To determine what materials in Chinese are useful and beneficial for outreach and for the training of church leaders.
4. To work toward the standardization of a terminology that promotes a faithful transmission of biblical truth to people, keeping in mind such things as age, education and spiritual maturity.
5. To train interpreters, translators, editors, and language project teams to work with materials to be rendered in Chinese.
6. To distribute or aid in the distribution of media for outreach to the Chinese people across the world.
7. To coordinate TWG and its work with the Multi-Language Publications committee of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod
