ALS offers advanced theological education in the historic Lutheran tradition that treasures the Bible and the unconditional Gospel in obedience to Christ who said "make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19-20).
Jesus Christ instituted the public ministry of the church so that Christians might faithfully follow the Word of God through life and into eternity.
Jesus set an example for the church by training his disciples before sending them out to preach, teach, and administer the sacraments of baptism & the Lord’s Supper.
Instruction at ALS adheres to the historic confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church as set forth in the Book of Concord of 1580.
Affiliation
The faculty of ALS are called from the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) and churches of the Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Conference (CELC).

Mission
It is the goal of ALS to shape Christian leaders for East Asia who will…
• search the Scriptures as the only reliable source of truth.
• know that God alone defines what is sin.
• confess the Lord Jesus Christ as the world’s only Saviour.
• proclaim a Gospel that is a divine gift, not a human choice.
• say "thank you" to God by living a life that pleases him.
• identify false teachings and avoid giving them support.
• promote Christian freedom where God has not spoken.
• deal with weak Christians in humility and patience.
• encourage the spiritual gifts of fellow Christians.
• rely upon the Word of God, baptism, and the Lord's Supper as the only revealed means through which the Holy Spirit
creates and sustains saving faith.
• await with confidence God’s promise of everlasting life.
